Taichi Nino

New Taichi nino is a step closer to perfect. The new non-magnetic stainless steel foundation and our super-grade ceramic ball have significantly reduced background noise and reproduced better music details. Taichi Nino maintains the height of Taichi mini. Yet, it offers better protection to your HiFi equipment. Our new Taichi Nino would not affect the tonal balance of your system. Instead, it improves the fluidity of music and the extension of mid/high range sound.

ungnoi Taichi Base | Art of Balance

Issued by Audio Technique, Hong Kong [No.445 Oct]

Introduction & Description

Taichi Base ---- The extraordinary accessory for audio & video equipment, supports sensitive Hi-Fi system to eliminates the vibration and improves the sonic performance. It consists of four highly polished non-magnetic solid stainless steel and the super-precision grade 5 ceramic balls. This kind of device with ceramic balls and polished cup like a jewelry. Besides, there are two different sizes, Taichi Base and mini Taichi Base. The height of Taichi Base is 24mm, and the maximum loading is 120kg/set; while Mini Taichi Base is 16mm with the maximum loading of 18kg/set.

Theory of Operation

Vibration affects the performance of HiFi system, usually with negative results, and originates from sources outside or inside the component. So Taichi Base utilize ceramic balls employed in vibration protection and combine it with mechanical transmission techniques. Moreover, to achieve the best effect of anti-vibration, their technicians have tested many times to find out the best match. Therefore, Taichi Base is more than a magical result by involving a lot of energies and time, but also offers extraordinary anti-vibration results for the audio & video equipment.

Top tier Material & Art of Craftmanship

Except the theory of operation, it is also very vital to use good quality material to produce this wonderful device. The body of Taichi Base is made of certificated non-magnetic 304 stainless steel, and highly polished. Besides, in the process of manufacturing, ungnoi technicians tested each item by a Japanese precision instrument to reduce the error value in less than 0.01mm. So among these four pieces of Taichi Base is almost zero error, and this result is totally drawn by my practical use.

In terms of the ceramic balls, all of them are in Grade 5 standard. Grade 5 means the sphere of each ceramic ball is lower than ±0.00013mm variations. Combining the solid stainless steel with ceramic balls, which make the anti-vibration frequency of Taichi Base be more precise. In the one hand, this is because the particle gap is so small that vibratory energy is very difficult to infiltrate into the inner; In the another hand, the high-density ceramic balls not only isolate the vibration, but also blocks this sources of vibration from penetrate into it. That’s why the Taichi Base enhance the sound improvement without adding any new resonances or distortions, or changing tonal character of the component.

Feel the sound of silence

Usually, the functions of a tuning device cannot be evaluated in only one equipment. For further test, I placed the Taichi Base under the following different devices, including the dCS Vivaldi SACD/CD, separated motor of TechDas Air Force III Premium, VAC Statement Line and Shunyata Research DCP-6. Then, I found that when the Taichi Base is installed underneath TechDas Air Force III Premium and the Shunyata Research DCP-6 power conditioner, the background of music becomes extremely quieter than before. Although there is no obvious noise before using the Taichi Base, you will really feel that the background becomes dark and silent, the shape and texture of instruments emerge once it is installed. Moreover, the outline of instrument becomes smoother and clearer. After the comparison of these two devices, it proves that Taichi Base exactly provides an additional step toward ideal equipment support, giving an extreme quite feeling. In short, I think that the sound will be good to put the Taichi Base under the equipment with obvious vibration. Especially when listening to [The Famous Sound of Three Blind Mice vol.1 33⅓ rpm LP] track 2< Midnight Sunrise >, not only the instruments become more prominent, but also the treble becomes brighter and transparent, while the bass become tight and warm. The dynamic of the strings will even make you more addicted to the sound.

During this test, I found that the low frequency will decrease when Taichi Base is used together with other acoustic platforms or similar anti-vibration devices, Take this test as an example. Since the turntable is placed on the top of the THIXAR Silence Plus platform, when Taichi Base place under the platform, it occurs extreme diffusion. Therefore, I remove the platform and place the Taichi Base directly underneath the tough devices, then it works. When listen the “Three Kingdoms: Resurrection Of The Dragon Original Soundtrack (Super ADMS SACD)” the track , and , the mid-high frequency becomes distinct, the separation between subtle ending and instruments also becomes clear. When listening to the violin concerto < Heartbreak>, the sound is full, detailed and exquisite, and you could even hear this slight sound of violin’s bow when it leaves the string. In summary, the Taichi Base mainly acts on the mid-high frequency, which could enhance the overall system’s performance.

Conclusion

I also put the mini Taichi Base under my DAC, finding out it also improved the mid to high frequency. In my opinion, there are still many ways the Taibchi Base can improve the sound performance of different equipment. So you might as well give it a try!
